I have been in the UK for a while now, as I need to sort out a few family things. I must confess it has been hard, and I did not realise how har it was on me until I returned to the Uk after a 4 week return home, for Christmas and the New Year.
I have decided to stay in the Uk for a year or so then return home, permanently after that. I think I will have a 4 week or month holiday first with my son, then return to the UK for a month or so to sort pout my things in the Uk and return then. I don’t want to sort all the things out before the holiday. Too much h hassle. I also need to apply for a new 10 year passport as well, my current one is running out, and as I will need to apply for a Thai Visa before returning, I will need a new passport for that. If you did not know, if you get a visa in a passport (Regardless of the country) that visa will be attached (Or should I say stuck) to that passport, so any subsequent issued passport you get, you will need to present the old passport, along with your new current one, to immigration, as even though the old passport is invalid, your visa, will still be valid. It means that you will need to have the two passports with you when you go to that country. More stress if you misplace one or the other.
I suspect , (I have not let confirmed this) I will need to travel to Cardiff, Wale to get my visa from the Thailand consulate , unfortunately they closed the Birmingham Consulate, I suspect it was due to the expense as it was mlocate on a prime stop in Victoria Square Birmingham City Centre.
My first Visa was a visa to go to Thailand to obtain a marriage Visa, you can’t get a marriage Visa outside the country , the only disadvantage of this Visa is you need to leave the country every 90 days. this may have changed, but I will know about that once I get closer to the time of applying. With the marriage Visa all you have to do is report to immigration , every 90 days, to show them you are still there and living at your address you provided. I will complete a blog about this marriage visa application when I start doing it, as the process may have changed, as it does there frequently.
Anyway, I have digressed, as I do, I went home for 4 weeks last Christmas and the New Year, goodness I missed the place. I had a great surprise, Thee , my son, had paid for a canopy over the car area, it looks great and was so pleased as it makes the area outside the front of the house nice and dry, and cooler. I also paid to get the majority of the front off the house to be tiles, and goodness does it look bigger , the only area not tiles, (But will be later , once I get the money sorted) will be the area where the car is parked. Leo loves it to as its a lot cooler.
I also installed some cctv as well, so I can look at the front of the house and garden, they are solar charged, as it is for security as well. So now and then I will have a peek at the house and see how Leo is and how he is. The house is going on well , but as the Thai’s say, “Nit Noy, Nit Noy” bit by bit. Nui and I have had a chat, and we will save Monet to add a bit to the left side of the house, it’s only wide enough to walk up and down and beside the neighbours house. So if we build an annex their, it will be ideal to use a storage space, and free up the kitchen space, as well as put the garden implements too.
As you can’t tell, I miss tinkering about the house, I also promised to Chris, that I will go to the gym and swimming pool in the complex, while I was there, but I never did, I realised all I needed to mod was to replay, while when I was home, I did, so not stress and aggression was not needed to be released, as I thought I needed before the trip, well that changed.
Food, God , I missed the food, and ironically I lost weight during the trip, even though I eat lots of ice cream, (I missed Dairy Queen too, lol)
When I returned to the UK, it took me a month or so to settle down, and even figure out I was slightly depressed , but this confirmed my plans to return home.
