Moo Bing (BBQ Pork) with Khaw Neow (Sticky Rice)
When you come to Thailand, you will be amazed to see lots of food stalls on the streets, the food is cheap and wonderful .
One of my favourites, and the one I always go to if I need a bit of protein and a snack , is Moo Bing ( Moo meaning pork and Bing meaning the turning action on the BBQ
So, if you get into a situation where you are hungry , but just need a snack to keep you going , this is an ideal snack-me-up.
So keep your eyes open for a little BBQ stand, with shinny flat pieces of meat, over hot coals, covered in a BBQ sauce, skewered by wooden sticks.
Each piece of wood will have several pieces of meat on it , costing around Bht 20. ( 50p ) You will also be able to get some sticky rice, and that will cost an extra Bht 10 to Bht 20 depending on the size.
The taste, will depend on the vender, but they are much the same, the pork one can be a little fatty, but there are no bones in to and can be eaten on the stick, but off you use your fingers , you will have a great time licking the BBQ sauce off them.
If you do come across a stall selling chicken instead of pork , ( Called Guy Bing ), check and see if the chicken has bones in it, I have tried a few of them , and they did have bones. They are just as nice, but not a pick up and eat, more pick up and sit down, as you will need to pick through it to get to the meat. On a good note, Leo, my dog loves the bones.
I recommend you eat , either the pork or chicken with sticky rice.
I hope this helps
Looking forward to adding to my blog.
Please be safe during this difficult time.
